Coliseum and Roman Forum

I anticipated this day.

When I was barely 9, I would go to the State library and peruse the kids section for stories about Zeus and his pantheon. Roman and Greek Gods are mostly the same but hold different names; I was curious as a child and as I grew, I was curious still. Imagine stepping on the steps up the Coliseum. A few thousand years ago, slaves and prisoner of wars fought for their lives in the arena – a game (or you could say source of entertainment)  for the people. When I first saw the Coliseum, I was amazed. You got to wonder how did they build something so grand at an age where there’s no modern technology. Now, they are ruins but once, once they were the personification of greatness and if this doesn’t account for something, I don’t know what will.
