My traveling partner loves, among others, beef, pork, rice and dishes which are on the sweeter side.
I love, among others, rice, eggs, veggie, fish and dishes which are on the saltier side.
Actually, I don’t like most of the things he likes and vice versa. I have always been very conservative when it comes to food but now I am trying to be open-minded. I am pretty proud of myself actually, hehe. I have tried a lot of new food in the past few months and am pleasantly surprised to find myself liking some of them. I have never been a foodie so when I travel, I always buy the cheapest food available. Even places such as London and Tokyo are cheap to me because I basically spend 1/3 of what normal people would spend on food.
I would like to believe that I have gotten Jambu’s eating patterns all figured out (hehe). He’s currently changing his diet in his quest to a healthier self – yay for me because I absolutely loathe fried food, fizzy drinks and excessive meat intake.
Anyway, here’s my personal top 5 eats in Bali (so that I can bring my parents there next time):
1. Taco Casa
2. Laota Restaurant – seriously the best porridge and you tiao I have had.
3. Naughty Nuri’s
4. Ikan Bakar Cianjur
5. Bebek Tepi Sawah
* and lots and lots of Bintang Radler too!
Till the next time. Toodles!
