This space has been gathering dust for the past few months. I am finding it increasingly difficult to write about my private life – there is such a dearth of certainty and assurance that I have decided keeping it quiet is the best.

I attempted numerous “healing” trips. By this, I mean just spending alone time in my room, letting the afternoon sun pierce through my fraying curtains, while reflecting on life lived and that which has yet to come. There were some breakthroughs (thankfully) and perhaps, I will explain it all in the months to come. For now, I am most excited about Korea Trip 2016.

Will winter come early this year? I hope so! Since we will be spending 11 days in Korea, we shortlisted 4 places that we think would add on to our Korean experience.

Transportation

After comparing numerous websites, blogs, and reviews, we decided that it is cheaper to travel all the way by bus rather than their KTX, saving the last leg, Gyeongju-Seoul for KTX; just for the experience you see.

Sinyeongju)

Bus (87,100 won/SGD105) vs Train (128,400 won/SGD155)

The breakdown doesn’t amount to much price difference – about SGD60. The traveling time doesn’t differ too much as well. Unless we get caught in the jam from Seoul-Jeonju, everything’s good. I still very much have the student mentality where I scrimp as humanly possible for accommodation, transportation and food when I travel.

Accommodation

For 10 nights of accommodation, the three of us will be spending roughly SGD850.

The hotels in Korea seem to always have enough beds for three travellers (one queen, one single) so it turns out to be ideal and we didn’t have to spend a lot more for bigger rooms. We avoided staying in crowded, touristy areas like Myeongdong since we figured we don’t mind the slightly extra traveling time for some peace and quiet at night.

Will update full list of hotels once the trip is over since I am not really sure what to expect of them yet. Hope all of them turns out pretty good! *fingers crossed.

We have pretty much got everything planned out – from what to see and when, except for Jeonju.

Next update, soon!
